APHASIA

Aphasia is the loss of language skills and can include spoken expression (talking), auditory comprehension (understanding), reading, and writing. In many cases patients experience aphasia as a result of a brain injury or stroke.

MOTOR SPEECH DISORDERS

More commonly referred to as either apraxia or dysarthria, these disorders affect a person's ability to successfully produce speech.

COGNITIVE COMMUNICATION IMPARIMENT

Cognition is a broad term for many thinking skills used in every day life, including problem solving, decision making, reasoning, attention, and memory. People with difficulties in cognition may have a range of difficulties that affect daily life as the result of brain injury, stroke, or degenerative diseases.
